To celebrate the birthday of Founder/ President of BIA Foundation Chogyal Rinpoche, BIA Foundation organized 3rd BIA Wheelchair Marathon and Blood Donation Program in Kathmandu today. Minister for women, children and senior citizen Tham maya Thapa was the Chief Guest of the program whereas Senior Superintendent of Nepal Police Basant Kumar Pant was the Special Guest. Around 200 Wheelchair users participated this year making this event a great success.
Prem Bahadur BK and Yami Jhakri Magar won the marathon taking First Position in the marathon, whereas Ramesh Khatri and Rajani Rai were 1st runner up and Bishnu Pukar Shrestha and Sarmila Thokar were 2nd runner up in male and female category respectively.
In the Blood Donation Program organized alongside the marathon event, 31 people donated their blood. Dance performances by wheelchair users from the students of BIA Foundation and members of Jawalakhel Wheelchair Sports Club were performed as well.
