INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

In observance of the 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we, the B.I.A. Institute, hosted our very first "Breaking Barriers - Disability Pride Scooter Rally and Musical Concert 2024” yesterday. This significant celebration saw an amazing participation of around 100 Adaptive Scooter Riders for the rally and another 150-200 attendees for the concert. The event was specially organized to highlight the importance of inclusivity and accessibility, breaking down barriers that individuals with disabilities face in their daily lives.

The participants proceeded along the designated route through the Kathmandu’s Ring Road to Bhaktapur, Jagati, Changu Narayan, Sankhu, Kageshwori to Jorpati culminating in the musical concert where artists - Kali Prasad Baskota, Sandeep Chhetri, Yash Kumar and Asmita Adhikari lighted up the event with their magical performances.

We had the honor of having U.S. Embassy, Nepal’s Deputy Chief of Mission Jason Meeks along with distinguished guests from different organizations accept our invitation and be part of this celebration. We are truly grateful for all the guests, event supporters and attendees for your warm support in making this event successful and memorable.

We hope we have been able to contribute in fostering a spirit of celebration and community engagement, celebrating diversity and the contributions of individuals with disabilities through this event.
